Overview Objectives
Full-time Master of Business Administration Gain foundational business knowledge, a deep understanding of the future of technological advancement, and become the entrepreneurial leader that today’s business world demands. Our program integrates classroom study with professional experience through our corporate residency, where you’ll gain invaluable professional insights and work on real projects for a 3- to 6-month, or two 6-month residencies.  You’ll have the opportunity to learn from seasoned business leaders, complete a consulting project locally or abroad, and launch a business through Northeastern’s venture accelerator IDEA. Additionally, MBA x is a new degree concept that offers you an opportunity to fuse your comprehensive education in finance and business fused with graduate-level knowledge and skills in another industry. You’ll select two of nine concentrations to develop expertise and meet your career goals, including Business Analytics, Corporate Innovation and Venturing, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Healthcare Management, International Business, Leading People and Organizations, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. Because our corporate partners have told us how much they value well-rounded individuals, you’ll also have the chance to take graduate-level courses offered by Northeastern’s other professional graduate schools as part of your electives. If enrolling in MBA x, you’ll complete required coursework at D’Amore-McKim, then complete a concentration in another area in partnership with one of Northeastern’s eligible professional colleges.
Online Master of Business Administration Elevate your business knowledge and prepare for the future of work in the everchanging business world. Northeastern’s Online MBA provides you the diverse skills you need to become a successful business leader of tomorrow. Our program is fully online, so you’ll interact and study alongside fellow students from all around the world. Build a connection with your classmates and foster your global mindset through our networking sessions, peer mentorship program, and our International Field Study opportunity. Tap into the experience of seasoned business professionals and industry experts in our faculty. You’ll also receive individual support and coaching from our student advisors so you can study with confidence and emerge a leader. The flexibility of the Online MBA is designed to fit seamlessly into your busy working schedule. Whether you’d like to pursue a general MBA degree to strengthen your foundational business knowledge, or if you’d like to focus your study by choosing a concentration, you can customize your curriculum to align with your career goals. You’ll have the option to select one of eight concentrations in Finance, Healthcare Management, High Technology Management, Innovation Entrepreneurship, International Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or Sustainability. If you can’t just choose one, you also have the option to pursue a dual concentration from select concentration areas.
Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication Incorporating best practices, case studies, research into the latest communication trends, and interactive learning formats, the Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication addresses complex challenges critical to effective communication. From communicating with multicultural teams to assessing the impact of social media campaigns, the program’s core courses, taught by instructors who are experienced communication professionals, examine topics that are critical to organizational communication in the digital era. Complementing this degree’s core courses are program concentrations in Human Resources, Human Services, Leadership, Project Management, Social Media and Online Communities, and Sport and Social Change—enabling you to focus your graduate studies in the area that best matches your interests and career objectives. Enhance your personal communication skills; examine negotiation, facilitation, and mediation best practices; develop intercultural communication skills and techniques; analyze communication ethics and the issues they present; and cultivate a supportive communication climate.
Master of Science in Leadership The call for capable leaders is on the rise. Not surprisingly, employers are increasingly evaluating leadership skills as part of the interview process. Professionals who possess strong decision-making, organizational, and people skills will be well positioned to succeed in leadership roles. The Master of Science in Leadership provides the foundation necessary to meet these evolving challenges by helping cultivate a personal leadership philosophy. Complementing the program’s core courses are concentrations in areas such as Project Management, Human Resources, and Organizational Communications, providing you with content-specific expertise. Develop and bolster your leadership competencies; explore key leadership areas, such as management, ethics, strategic thinking, and organizational culture; prepare for the challenges and opportunities associated with leading in a global world; exercise leadership skills through action-learning and research projects; and improve your ability to lead and work both independently and collaboratively.
Master of Science in Nonprofit Management Designed for individuals who wish to pursue a management or leadership position in the nonprofit sector, the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management offers a comprehensive perspective on the social, legal, cultural, and organizational issues that impact today’s nonprofit organizations. Integrating theoretical approaches with practical application, the program’s core curriculum covers areas such as nonprofit law, finance, fundraising, human resources, and grant and report writing. Complementing the core courses are degree concentrations in areas such as Global Studies, Human Services, Leadership, Organizational Communication, Project Management, Social Media, and Sports, allowing you to connect your studies with personal and career learning objectives. Explore leadership practices that contribute to organizational success; understand legal and governance issues in nonprofit organizations; hone your fundraising skills, including grant and proposal writing; recognize important social, organizational, and cultural change agents; discover traditional and nontraditional ways to promote nonprofits to supporters, the public, and the media; and analyze national and international trends, issues, and political shifts affecting the nonprofit marketplace.
Master of Science in Project Management In today’s fast-paced business environment, companies succeed or fail based on their ability to bring quality products and services to market on time, on budget, and within specifications. Organizations in every industry recognize this, and a resulting shortage of talent has created expansive career opportunities for knowledgeable project managers. The Master of Science in Project Management is designed to provide you with the theoretical concepts and practical skills you need to lead complex projects successfully—from initial planning, budgeting, and negotiations through project oversight and final evaluation. Complementing the degree curriculum are concentrations that enable you to expand your knowledge within your field of interest. Effectively manage multiple, sometimes interrelated, complex projects; implement enterprise-level project portfolio management (PPM) based upon an organization’s strategic business goals; avoid common project management pitfalls; and develop metrics for determining and reporting project performance.
