Degree Overview Objectives
Master of Science in Bioinformatics Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field of science that combines computer science, statistics, mathematics, and engineering to study and process biological data. Computers are used to gather, store, analyze, and integrate biological and genetic information, which can then be applied to gene-based drug discovery and development. Build a core of critical knowledge in bioinformatics computational methods, bioinformatics programming, statistics for bioinformatics, and ethics for biological research; and prepare to assume leadership roles in a range of life sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries, including genomics, personalized medicine, drug discovery, and cancer therapy.
Master of Science in Computer Science Computing is an essential element of nearly every human endeavor, and today’s computer scientists are solving many of the world’s problems. For this innovative work, the rewards are often high, with competitive salaries and the intrinsic benefits of knowing that your contributions have great impact on people, companies, and communities. Develop the ability to recognize and solve problems arising in modern computing; assimilate ideas and concepts from theoretical studies and hands-on design and programming; and acquire skills in software and application design, network infrastructure, and other dynamic and emerging computer science areas.
Master of Science in Energy Systems

Some of the most pressing global issues we face today are related to energy, resources, conservation, and the effects of energy production and increasing worldwide demand. As a result, professionals with knowledge in the design and development of optimal methods to produce and utilize energy in ways that are both sustainable and marketable are currently—and will continue to be—in great demand. Educate students in current and future energy systems technologies; integrate energy-related technologies with economic and financial considerations; and develop leadership and decision-making skills to implement energy systems in either the private or public sectors of the global market.
Master of Science in Health Informatics

The American healthcare system is undergoing dramatic changes and improvements that center on the integration of technology in patient care. Professionals in the field of health informatics—the union of information science, computer science, and healthcare—are driving many of these advancements, including utilizing new data mining technologies and artificial intelligence to improve clinical healthcare decision-making. Understand how information technology, people, health, and the healthcare system interrelate; use information technology and information management concepts and methods to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes; and communicate effectively among healthcare practitioners, administrators, and IT professionals, and understand each group’s needs and constraints.
Master of Science in Information Assurance (Cybersecurity) With cyber attacks accelerating, there is an acute shortage of trained information assurance professionals and an escalating need for their skills. Gain the critical knowledge you need to protect an organization’s information assets and systems, make strategic decisions about information security issues, including identity theft, computer viruses, and electronic fraud, and provide leadership in these and other strategic efforts. Build core knowledge surrounding computer system security and network practices; plan and implement security strategies to reduce risk and enhance protection of information assets and systems; understand legal and ethical issues associated with information security, privacy, and digital rights; and enhance communication skills for effective interaction with corporate management on IA-related issues.
Master of Science in Project Management In today’s fast-paced business environment, companies succeed or fail based on their ability to bring quality products and services to market on time, on budget, and within specifications. Organizations in every industry recognize this, and a resulting shortage of talent has created expansive career opportunities for knowledgeable project managers. Effectively manage multiple, sometimes interrelated, complex projects; implement enterprise-level project portfolio management (PPM) based upon an organization’s strategic business goals; avoid common project management pitfalls; and develop metrics for determining and reporting project performance.
